Arrival in Sarandë

Visit: Lekursi Castle for panoramic views over Sarandë Bay and Corfu Island, and a brief introduction to Albania’s southern Riviera and its history.

Depart in the morning for Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient ruins dating back to the 7th century BC, including the Roman theatre, the baptistery, and the Venetian tower, surrounded by rich Mediterranean vegetation.

Continue towards Gjirokastër, known as the “City of Stone.”

Visits: Gjirokastër Castle with its impressive armaments museum and the traditional bazaar filled with local crafts and handmade textiles. Evening free to explore the old town.

After breakfast, drive north to Berat, another UNESCO-listed town. On arrival, take a guided walking tour through the Mangalem and Gorica quarters connected by the famous stone bridge.

Visits: Berat Castle, the Onufri Museum located inside the cathedral, showcasing remarkable Byzantine icons, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Osum River valley.

Depart for Krujë, the historical town of Albania’s national hero, Skanderbeg.

Visits: Krujë Castle and the Skanderbeg Museum, followed by a stroll through the Old Bazaar, where artisans sell traditional crafts, carpets, and souvenirs.

Continue to Tirana, Albania’s vibrant capital city, for an evening panoramic orientation drive through Skanderbeg Square, Et’hem Bey Mosque, and the New Bazaar area.

Drive towards the ancient city of Apollonia, founded in the 6th century BC.

Visits: the Archaeological Park, including the Bouleuterion, the Odeon, the Church of Saint Mary, and the remains of the ancient city walls.

Continue to Vlorë, a coastal city where Albania declared its independence in 1912.

Visits: Independence Square and the Independence Monument.

After breakfast, travel along one of the most scenic coastal roads in the Balkans. Drive through the Llogara National Park, with its breathtaking views over the Ionian coast.

Stops and visits: The panoramic point at Llogara Pass (1,027m), the seaside village of Dhermi,Porto Palermo Castle and Himara, known for its crystal-clear beaches. Arrival in Sarandë in the afternoon.

Morning excursion to Ksamil, famous for its turquoise waters and small islands just offshore.

Visits: Ali Pasha Castle at the entrance of Butrint Lagoon, and free time to enjoy the natural surroundings or optional boat trip around the bay.

Return to Sarandë in the afternoon for leisure or shopping.

After breakfast, transfer to the port for the departure by ferry to Corfu or onward travel arrangements. End of services.
